D: Diabetes is considered as a multi system disorder and its prevalence is globally increasing. Diabetes is usually preceded by prediabetes. It is a condition relating to insulin resistance characterized by impaired fasting glucose or impaired glucose tolerance. Prediabetes is a reversible condition, if lifestyle changes are initiated at this stage diabetes can be prevented or delayed. AIM OF THE STUDY: To prevent or delay the occurrence of Diabetes Mellitus among prediabetic employees. METHODS: The study was conducted using a quasi experimental design. Totally, 723 employees were screened for prediabetes using IDRS (Indian Diabetic Risk Score) and FBS and 178 prediabetic employees formed the samples. RESULTS: The calculated independent t test for knowledge revealed a high statistical significant difference between experimental and control group at plt0.001. The overall mean knowledge score in posttest was 20.70 ,whereas in control group it was 12.55 .The unpaired t test value was 24.57 which was significant at plt0.001 level. The comparison between the lifestyle variables score in pretest, posttest 1, 2 and 3 within the experimental group revealed a statistically a high significant difference at plt0.001, whereas there was no significant difference in the control group. The calculated student independent t test in relation to BMI and FBS showed a high statistical significance at plt0.05 and plt0.001 level respectively. Positive moderate correlation was observed between knowledge and lifestyle whereas negative moderate correlation was observed between lifestyle and biophysiological measures. Chi-square test revealed the association of selected demographic variables like age, marital status, type of family, educational status, family monthly income and history of diabetes. CONCLUSION: Administration of diabetes risk reduction package indicates that simple modifications in diet, physical activity and lifestyle habits can help to prevent or delay diabetes resulting from the prediabetes status. newline newline
