Abstract
Technology is one of the most popular buzz words in today s society. It is considered as tool to transform the contemporary society into something that was never imagined before. Technology, though, not a new co concept. It existed since the existence of human being on the earth. In a conventional sense, technology is a tool to make the human life richer and task easier to accomplish. Thinking about ancestors, loosely, it started from making implements needed for hunting for wanderers and then tools for agriculture for settlers. Now, technology has become an integral part of life of citizen of any country in the world, and it is somehow intimately connected with their livelihood. In the contemporary times, the technological advancements have led to great jump in the living standards due to improvements in literacy, health, and life expectancy. But there are side effects too due to the technological advances, which are manifested in terms of deadly weapons leading to frequent warfare between the nations. Rapid industrialization induced by technology has also created environmental hazards, such as global warming, high pollution level in the cities. Information or data is the new food for the netizens. Netizens are the human beings who spent most of their waken-up states in searching for information and playing with internet- based mobile applications. As the ICT technologies are growing at never-seen-before pace, government organizations all over the world have recognized their significance in ensure enhanced governance, particularly related to the socio-economic development of their countries.
