Abstract
With the ground breaking advent of optical fiber, fiber-optic sensor (FOS) came forward as an excellent candidate in a variety of sensing applications. The light guiding properties of optical fibers are the fundament for fiber-optic sensors. Various fiber optic sensors (FOSs) using, fiber bragg grating, long period grating, Tilted fiber bragg grating, SMS structure, tapering, bending and many other configurations have been presented in the previously articles. The limited modal overlap between guided modes and the cladding material to be detected limits the sensitivity of all these sensors. At the same time, all of these methods are hampered by limitations like as fabrication complexity and mechanical insecurity, which provide a barrier to the sensor design procedure.
