| dc.description.abstract | The tremendous growth in the field of image processing has led to its newlineapplications in the field of medical science. They are increasingly becoming popular newlinebecause of the introduction of telemedicine. The medical image processing techniques newlineplay a vital role in the clinical analysis of most of the human bodily structures, from newlinebrain to finger. Physicians found it more difficult and laborious to analyze all in person. newlineThese techniques reduce their time by providing the partial examinations to assist them newlinein treatment. Most of the people suffer from many brain diseases related to various newlinereasons and dementia is one of the sensitive disease. There are various types of newlinedementia, and Alzheimer s disease (AD) is taken for our study. These results in the newlinevolume reduction of sub cortical brain structure named hippocampus. Hippocampus newlinesegmentation is essential to assist in the clinical study of AD. There are many newlinesegmentation methods and still it remains a challenging task to design simple automated newlinetechniques. newline | |
