This research work proposes a Direct Torque Control (DTC) method for a BOOSTVSI (Voltage Source Inverter) fed induction motor. DTC control method is proven to newlinebe the better speed control method over all the other control techniques of Induction newlinemotor due to its ease of implementation, absence of axes transformation, independent newlinecontrol of torque and flux and better dynamic performance. The proposed work deals newlinewith two major issues of the drives. The first one is sluggish response during light newlineloads and low speeds and the second one is efficiency enhancement. newlineA Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) - Pulse Amplitude Modulation newline(PAM) techniques are implemented for 3-phase VSI and Boost converter respectively newlinefor different speeds and load torques. This SVPWM-PAM technique reduces torque newlineripple, DC-link distortions and helps in improving the performance of the motor. And newlinealso an optimum flux prediction based DTC method is proposed using three machine newlinelearning techniques, Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC), Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference newlineSystem (ANFIS) and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM). A comparative analysis of newlinethese three techniques is also presented using MATLAB/Simulink software for light newlineloads and speeds. newlineA loss model based optimum flux method is proposed to reduce the core losses and newlineimprove efficiency. Efficiency and other response parameters of the drive are newlinecompared with and without optimum flux using MATLAB/ SIMULINK and Typhoon newlineHIL simulator. It is observed that the proposed models can improve the motor newlineperformance in terms of efficiency and dynamic response newline
