Abstract
Security of Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANET) is a prime concern due to the number of attackers existing. To protect and improve the overall performance of VANETs, an innovative and effective solution was implemented through the RSA security boost algorithm which could detect different types of attacks such as Sybil, Black Hole, and DoS security attacks in the AODV routing protocol. The proposed algorithm analyzes the path table and inspects the node, packet, and route information thereby eliminating unwanted attacks or intruders that are available in the network. RSA algorithm is incorporated to obtain the optimal path. Once the optimal route is obtained the packets are transferred from the source to the destination securely and efficiently. All the node, route, and packet information are learned dynamically by AFD, and the information about each node is periodically updated in the path table. When the packet has to be broadcasted from the source node to the destination node, AFD obtains the available path from source to destination. AFD validates these paths and updates the valid path in the path table. To do the assessment, there are different parameters, like, Throughput Time, Number of Dropped Packets, Energy Consumption, and Packet Collision .Therefore, it provides us with better results by enhancing the level of security with a small key size, increasing throughput time, decreasing packet collision and packet drop, and less energy consumption. Further, the experimental results, comparisons with the existing system, and analyses are shown for the proposed algorithms. Implementation of this proposed system is carried out by using the MATLAB simulation tool (R2015b).
