Engineered Heterogeneous Catalysts for Sustainable and Selective Synthesis of Heterocyclic Compounds

Abstract

The present thesis, entitled Engineered Heterogeneous Catalysts for Sustainable and Selective Synthesis of Heterocyclic Compounds, focuses on the development of novel heterogeneous catalytic systems for the efficient and environmentally benign synthesis of N-heterocyclic compounds. The study explores new synthetic strategies employing engineered nanostructured catalysts under sustainable reaction conditions, aligned with the principles of green chemistry. The thesis begins by emphasizing the importance of N-heterocyclic compounds in contemporary society, highlighting their structural diversity and widespread applications in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, materials science, natural products, and organic synthesis. A detailed classification of N-heterocyclic compounds is presented, followed by a comprehensive discussion of conventional and modern synthetic protocols. newline
