Stability analysis of non Newtonian fluids in porous medium

Abstract

The present thesis entitled Stability Analysis of non-Newtonian Fluids in Porous Medium is a study of the thermal and thermosolutal instabilities that arise in nonNewtonian fluids that flow through a porous media. The problems to investigate such fluids have been modelled with the help of constitutive equations provided by Jeffrey (1926), Darcy-Brinkman (1947) and Walters (1962). The generated equations have been transformed into non-dimensional form by introducing non-dimensional parameters. Perturbation technique has been used to obtain perturbation solutions. The partial differential equations obtained are reduced to ordinary differential equations using the normal mode analysis method. newline
