Response of Groundnu Arachis hypogaea L to Foliar Application of Nitrogen through Nano Urea and Urea Phosphate

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2023 and 2024 at newlineResearch Farm of Oilseeds Research Station (MPKV, Rahuri), Jalgaon (Maharashtra), newlineIndia to study the Response of Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) to Foliar newlineApplication of Nitrogen through Nano Urea and Urea Phosphate . The newlineexperiment was laid out under Randomized Block Design with three replications with newlineten treatments. The three treatment consisting of 100, 75, 50 % RDF, three treatments newlineconsisting of 100, 75 and 50 % RDF with combination of 0.2 and 1 % nano urea and newlineurea phosphate spray at flowering stage, three treatments consisting of 100, 75 and newline50% RDF with combination of 0.2 and 1% spray of nano urea and urea phosphate at newlineflowering and peg formation stage, respectively and one treatment consisting of newline100% RDF + 2 % urea spray at 30 and 60 DAS, respectively, were applied to the newlinegroundnut var. JL-776 (Phule Bharati) with uniform application of 10 ton of FYM to newlineall the treatments as per recommendation. newlineThe application of 100 % RDF + foliar spray of 0.2 % nano urea + 1 % urea newlinephosphate at flowering and peg formation stage (T7) significantly increased the plant newlineheight at harvest, pods per plant, branches per plant, total and effective root nodules newlineper plant, chlorophyll at 45 DAS and 65 DAS (SPAD), kernel yield, pod yield, haulm newlineyield, biological yield, protein and oil per cent in seed as well as nutrients content and newlineuptake of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, iron, copper and manganese in seed newlineand haulm as compared to 100% RDF + foliar spray of urea at 2 % at 30 and 60 DAS newlineand conventional fertilizer treatments (100 %, 75 % and 50 % RDF), respectively. newlineThe pH, electrical conductivity had no any effect and retain initial values, whereas, newlineavailable nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, iron, copper and manganese content, alkaline and acidphosphatase activity, dehydrogenase activity and microbial newlinepopulation viz. bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes population in soil and net returns newlinewere increased significantly.
