Study of factors impacting on success and failure of food processing startups in Pune and Mumbai

Abstract

With the constant inflow of professionals followed by rising urbanization in Maharashtra, newlinefood delivery and processing segments is now approaching a scorching climate. Start-up newlineIndia Action Plan has been announced on 16th January 2016 with the purpose of assisting newlineentrepreneurs for building up robust ecosystem. Further, the role of DPIIT (Department for newlinepromotion of industry and internal trade) is to encourage the country s industrial development. newlineIn addition to this circumstance, food processing start-ups are now becoming a great hit with newlinetechnology developments in India. Several meal delivery applications are available on the newlinesmart phones for ordering food from their comfort zones that enable fresh start- up in this newlinemarket. The present studyfocused on the observing the current scenario in the start-up food newlineprocessing start-ups in Maharashtra, particularly in Pune and Mumbai and also factors newlineaffecting on success and failure of food processing start-ups. The study attempted to analyze newlinethe impact of factors on the success and failure of the food processing start-up in Mumbai newlineand Pune based on the fifteen factors such as gender, age of entrepreneurs, education, family newlinebusiness background, prior experience, location, idea itself, team, customer satisfaction, newlineIPR retention, idea commercialization, making valuable asset for sale, raising venture newlinecapital/fund, increase in number of customers, and market-oriented products.
