The present work deals with the successful synthesis of metal oxide based nanostructures (TiO2, Ag2O/TiO2, CdS/TiO2, silver modified ZnO, Ag/Fe2O3/ZnO and Bi2WO6), their characterization using various analytical and spectroscopic techniques (XRD, TEM, HRTEM, FESEM, EDS, XPS, FTIR, PL, BET surface area newlineand UV-DRS) and applications in the field of photocatalytic degradation of pharmaceutical drugs (ketorolac tromethamine, levofloxacin, ofloxacin and ciprofloxacin) in aqueous phase. newline newline
