Abstract
The role of traffic management is to avoid congestion of the networks and
newlineadaptation of source rates and routing to efficiently utilize the network resources. This
newlineappears if the needs of the traffic in a network are larger than the actual capacity of the networks. In Multipath routing, there are many routers, links and paths between the sources and destination. Sometimes, when the data is submitted from source to
newlinedestination, it takes more time to reach the destination of the communication networks.
newlineHere, more bandwidth is required than other paths. This type of issue will be solved easily with the help of TRUMP and LBMP algorithm. Network utility maximization is the allocation of right amount of resources to the nodes of a network in order to maximize an overall utility function. There are many optimization tools like users, routers, operators to solve this problem in a centralized manner. This thesis attempts to perform the numerical level simulation and packet level simulation to maximize the
newlineutility and throughput by using the proposed algorithm. Then it discusses distributed
newlineways to solve various formulations of Network Utility Maximization problem. The
newlineproblems are decomposed into many sub problems by using Primal Dual
newlineDecomposition Techniques. By applying direct resource allocation and adjusting the
newlineresources step by step until reaching equilibrium. The dual decomposition by pricing the resource in such a manner, each node achieves optimal utility. Finally, the
newlinemaximization of optimum utility and throughput are done by allocating the bandwidth in a fair manner.
