Abstract
Background: The menopausal health of rural population is usually characterized by
newlinegross inadequate knowledge and support systems. This will, therefore, be a study
newlineaimed at determining the efficacy of the Community Based Educational Package with
newlineregard to Knowledge, Attitude, Quality of Life, Stress, and Coping Strategies among
newlinepostmenopausal women in the rural area of Mohali, Punjab.

newline1. To assess the pre-test and post-test levels of Knowledge, Attitude, Quality of
newlineLife, Stress and Coping Strategies among postmenopausal women in the
newlineexperimental and control group.
newline2. To develop and implement Community Based Educational Package (CBEP) on
newlineKnowledge, Attitude, Quality of Life, Stress, and Coping Strategies among
newlinePostmenopausal symptoms.
newline3. To evaluate the effectiveness of Community Based Educational Package (CBEP)
newlineon Knowledge, Attitude, Quality of Life, Stress and Coping Strategies among
newlinepostmenopausal women in the experimental and control group.
newline4. To find the association between selected demographic variables and level of
newlineKnowledge, Attitude, Quality of Life, Stress and Coping Strategies among
newlinepostmenopausal women in the experimental and control group.
newlineMethods: True experimental pre-test-post-test control group design. Sample size of
newline200 Postmenopausal women aged 40-60 years selected through simple random
newlinesampling from four villages in the kharar block district Mohali. Experimental group -
newline100 women, CBEP comprising: Flash Cards and pamphlet, lecture cum discussion,
newlinewhile the control group - comprised 100 women without any intervention. Data
newlinecollection was done through structured, modified questionnaires and standardized
newlinescales.
