Behavior of Engineered cement composites in Shear Predominant Regions

Abstract

Most of the research studies have predicted the shear strength of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) beams without shear newlinereinforcement, which provide wide range of equations considering different parameters. These equations are still in research papers and are not incorporated by any design codes. Another potential reason for newlinethe lack of shear design provisions is the fact that the shear resistance newlinemechanisms for Reinforced Concrete (RC) beams are not fully newlineunderstood. When steel fibers are added to RC beams, these newlinemechanisms become even more complicated. The research is scanty newlineon shear behaviour of HSC beams with fiber termed as High Strength newlineSteel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (HSSFRC). Thus the objectives of the newlineresearch are stated as: newline
