Abstract
newlineLiterature is described in Sanskrit as Vaakyam Rasaatmakam Kaavyam which
newlinemeans, the composition filled with flavour and taste and which provides pleasure of reading and
newlinelistening is literature and such composition is considered the supreme form of art which is the
newlinemirror of society. And this mirror not only acquaints the society with reality but also shows path
newlineon which the society can move in future.
newlineIndia is a basket of multi coloured flowers of languages and dialects. This vivid
newlinefragrance collectively becomes the essence of Indian nation. This multi coloured and multi
newlinefaceted society of Bharat is a glorious and curious picture of unity among diversity, mutual love,
newlinerespect and understanding, peaceful coexistence, tolerance and faiths and devotion. And in such
newlinea multi dimensional society folk literature presents the Indian panorama more vividly and
newlinefascinatingly than the cine screen. India is not just a geographical identity but it is a quest for
newlinetruth and spirituality, an essence of humanity which distinguishes Indian culture and Indian
newlinenationhood from rest of the world.
