Identification of Sperm Immune Regulatory Proteins Influencing Semen Quality in HF Bulls

Abstract

Sperm antigenicity has been implicated as a regulatory factor for acquiring fertilizing competence in the female reproductive tract. Overt immune response against the sperm proteins leads to idiopathic infertility. Hence, the aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of the auto-antigenic potential of sperm on the antioxidant status, metabolic activities and reactive oxygen species (ROS) and functional parameters in bovine. The proteins reacting to antisperm antibody and Global proteomics in both the groups (Higher and lower antigenic) and their GO ontologies, pathways involved were covered in this study. Two proteins were selected, protein with higher molecular weight SPATA18 (MW-64kDa) and protein with lower molecular weight LCN-5(MW-20kDa) for protein validation study. newline
