Abstract
ABSTRACT
newlineIndian capital market plays a vital role in economic development. It is a bridge between
newlineborrowers (demand of funds) and lenders (suppliers of funds). The demand for long term capital
newlinecomes mainly from private sector industries and Government. The supply of funds (generation of
newlinefunds) is largely from individual savings, corporate savings, banks, insurance companies,
newlinespecialized financing agencies and government. Thus, capital market is a market for long term
newlinefunds and facilities the institutional arrangements for borrowings and lending of medium term
newlineand long term funds. The structure of capital market is divided into two major markets i.e.,
newlineprimary market and secondary market. The growth of capital market from 2017 - 2021 reached
newlineto Rs.10 Lakhs crores in terms of Primary, Equity and Debentures issues for fund raising. The
newlineprimary market growth recorded 3 times in this time period. Secondary Market both SENSEX
newlineand NIFTY50 touched their highest peak levels i.e., SENSEX reached 60,000 points and
newlineNIFTY50 reached 20,000. At the same time, Mutual Fund industry has a Net Inflow of Rs.2,
newline75,985 crores. Today, the Indian capital markets truly reflect one of the fastest-growing
newlineeconomies in the world.
newlineIn this scenario, the present study was undertaken to analyze and measure the investor
newlineperception towards capital market investments. Investor s perception depends on the experience,
newlineawareness, preference towards capital market investments. Under the study, factors influencing
newlineinvestment decision towards Stock Market, IPOs and Mutual Funds are also analysed and
newlinemeasured. At the end, risk and return association with capital market investments and
newlinediversification of assets, satisfaction levels are also measured. For this purpose, a structure
newlinequestionnaire is developed and administered with the help of available literature. The study
newlineconfines to Hyderabad and Secunderabad city only. A convenient sampling method is adopted
newlineand a total of 1000 questionnaires with 10 brokerage firms in Hyderabad and Secunderabad area
