Comparative Evaluation Of Pre Emptive And Preventive Analgesic Effect Of Oral Ibuprofen In Single Visit Root Canal Treatment A Prospective Randomised Study

Abstract

Adequate pain management is an essential key to success in both endodontics newlineand restorative dentistry. There are several ways to reduce pain during and newlineafter the root canal treatment, one of them is, administering analgesics newlinepreoperatively and/or postoperatively. Single oral preoperative dosage before newlineroot canal treatment may decrease the establishment of central sensitization, newlinewhereby spinal neurons increase their responsiveness to peripheral nociceptive newlineinput which could amplify postoperative pain and it is also helpful in reducing newlinethe postoperative analgesic intake. Whether pre-emptive analgesia is more newlineeffective than preventive regimens in managing postoperative pain is still newlinecontroversial. newlineAim newlineTo evaluate the postoperative pain levels and analgesic intake on pre- emptive newlineversus postoperative oral administration of Ibuprofen in single visit root canal newlinetreatment. newline
