Abstract
Pollution is increasing day by day all over the world due to consumption of fossil fuel. Cars are the second largest emitter of carbon emissions after industry. The use of cars has become a part of human life and fashion in present generation. The use of petrol and diesel is increasing exponentially due to the use of these cars, which in turn creates a lot of pollution. Pollution worldwide has forced many major cities to enforce regulations and restrict in usage of cars. A good solution is to run these cars with electric power to bring the pollution under control. But electric cars still have to come with a lot of development and new research technologies. Many researchers are proposed different controllers for drives to run vehicles. At the same time many problems will arrive when electric cars are charging through grid. In this research report, developed a new controller for electric car and also implemented effective energy management system when vehicle is connected to grid for changing the battery. Induction motor driven electric car is implemented in MATLAB platform because of low cost, weight less and superior performance with direct torque controller. Further, the battery management system is also developed with bidirectional DC to DC converter for charging and discharging process of battery in electric car when connected to grid. The control of motor with fewer ripples in torque is very important aspect in electric vehicle. The reduction of ripples in torque with smooth speed characteristics is one of the main challenging aspects especially in electric cars. Along with motor controller, the battery management system also plays a key role to stabilize dc-link voltage of inverter. Direct torque controller is implemented on induction motor to decrease the ripples on torque. However, classical direct torque controller till having ripples in torque will cause many problems on movement of vehicle. Hence, two fuzzy logic controllers are implemented to produce smooth electromagnetic torque by induction motor. Th
