Land Transfers and Change in Agrarian Structure A Study in Northern Telangana

Abstract

Agriculture is the primary sector activities based on the land and other natural resources are the primary source of livelihood for the vast majority of the economically vulnerable rural population, including the poor people in India. It is newlinewell-settled fact and knowledge that access to land is of critical significance in large parts of the world and India is no exemption. The entire economic, social and political newlinenetworks revolve around it. Further, the land provides not only economic sustenance but often plays a key role in enhancing the prospects of substantive citizenship in much of rural poor India. Thus the issue of land rights and access to natural resources newlineis, therefore, one which must be envisioned not in narrow economic terms but as the basis for larger well-being ethnographical studies concluded social status newline
