dc.description.abstractThe behaviour modification (operant) approach to teaching independent living skills is a relatively new technology that has been in existence for approximately, Fifteen years. Antecedents to this technique can be found in the writings of skinner (1953, 1958), Ellis (1974), Bijou (1966), Bijou and orlado (1961), and ferster (1961), Skinner (1953) speculated about ways the operant conditioning method could be used to develop social/educational system. The present study was conducted to assess the Efficacy of Reward system in modifying the behaviour of Mentally Retarded Children researcher selected quasi-experimental, pre-post control group design for her study, she has chosen 200 samples\100 experimental and control group with a defined inclusion criteria. She used convenient sampling technique to select the sample she used modified behavioural assessment Scale for basic MR tool for her study pilot study was conducted at Thulir, Rehabilative Center at Kayamozhi. To assess the reliability and feasibility of the tool. Content validity is obtained by experts from concern Field\study was conducted at Anbagan and Akash Mentally Retarded Rehabilitative Center Madurai.
