The role of bar council of India in promotinf legal education A study with special reference to state of HP

Abstract

The present study makes an endeavor to analyse the role played by the Bar newlineCouncil of India in promotion of Legal education in India, which, in turn, newlinehas equal application in so far as the State of Himachal Pradesh is concerned. newlineIn essence, the present study concludes that though the India legal education newlinesystem have undergone considerable change, in a positive sense, in the newlinerecent times, considering the potential, talent pool and the opportunities that newlineour country has to offer, a lot more efforts need to be undertaken for further newlinereforming, strengthening and development of India legal education system newlinefor it to stand up to its global counterparts. This entails reform of the newlineprofessional legal education system at the level of the relevant stakeholders newlineand bringing about radical and innovative changes to the existing system. newlineThough the sphere of legal education in India is regulated, at varied levels, newlineby a number of stakeholders, however, this research work would make an newlineendeavor to analyse, in detail, the role played by the Bar Council of India newlinein the regulation and promotion of legal education in India. newlineThe present study concludes that the relevant regulatory framework makes newlinenecessary provisions for the Bar Council of India to play a constructive role newlinein the direction of making qualitative improvement of legal education in newlineIndia through exhibition of necessary vision and direction in this regard in newlineorder to put in place effective framework for reforming and developing the newlinelegal education sector in India. newlineAn endeavor would also be made to provide some suggestions in aid of newlinebringing about qualitative improvement/development of legal education in newlineIndia. newline
