| dc.description.abstract | Multirate digital signal processing is extensively used in most of the emerging technology such as communication, biomedical signal processing, software ratio and instrumentation. Variable sampling rates are involved in multirate signal processing. The demand which need for the multirate signal processing is to process the data with more number of sampling rates with high quality. To carry out the wide range of tasks such as spectral shaping, sample rate conversion, filtering and channel equalization, linear phase finite impulse response filter are used widely and adopted in many applications because of its properties such as linear phase and unconditionally stable characteristics. Higher order filter provides better response than lower order filter. Less area and higher speed of operation is achieved through higher order filters in communication systems. The major drawback of such filter is the complexity in filter coefficients involved in convolution operation, which increases further with respect to order of the filter. Therefore in order to enhance the performance of multirate filter in terms of area, speed and computational complexity, various filter structures with different methods were designed. The demand of multirate signal processing applications to support sample rate conversion techniques are increased without any degradation. However, the performance of sampling rate conversion system mainly lies on the implementation of multirate filter as well. newline | |
