Abstract
Epidemiology is the study of the distribution of a disease in the population and
newlineof factors that influence the occurrences of the disease. Epidemiology examines
newlineepidemic (excess) and endemic (always present) diseases; it is based on the obser-
newlinevation that most diseases do not occur randomly, but are related to environmental
newlineand personal characteristics that vary by place, time and subgroup of the pop-
newlineulation. The main objective in any such study is to examine the causes for the
newlinedevelopment of a disease so that the appropriate remedial measures and/or the
newlinetreatments can be suggested accordingly.
