Seamless access in heterogeneous wireless network using hexagon based medium access control

Abstract

The Next Generation of wireless networks represents a heterogeneous environment with different access networks technologies that differ in bandwidth or data rate This Next Generation wireless Network is called the fourth Generation wireless networks that will replace the third generation wireless networks in future The 4G networks focus on newlineseamless integration of the Cellular Network 3G 2G Wireless Local Area Network and Bluetooth wireless technologies In this kind of environment, seamless access is the challenging issue that supports the roaming of users from one system to another When the user roams throughout this heterogeneous wireless environment it should be newlineautomatically switched from one access technology to another depending upon on availability of resources high network utilization and Quality of Service requirements newlineThe Medium Access Control layer of NG wireless terminal will encounter different protocols that are already deployed in the Access Points of these networks The various types of MAC protocols such as TDMA CDMA and CSMA CA can be classified in terms of their multiple access schemes newline newline
