Abstract

4 newlineABSTRACT newlineThe present study entitled Impact of Biopriming, Putrescine and Calcium on growth, newlineyield and quality of green gram (Vigna radiata L.) was conducted to check the effect newlineof individual and in combination of Bio-priming with rhizobium and foliar application newlineof Putrescine and Calcium on growth, biochemical, yield attributes, yield and seeds of newlinegreen gram crop. Green gram is an important leguminous crop, essential for human newlinenutrition and soil fertility because of its capacity to fix atmospheric nitrogen. But to newlineimprove its quality, production, and growth, new strategies like growth regulators and newlineBio-priming are needed. Rhizobium, a symbiotic nitrogen fixing bacteria, putrescine newlineas a growth regulator and calcium as an essential nutrient are helpful. Parameters like newlinegrowth attributes (plant height, number of branches, no. of leaves, leaf area, leaf area newlineindex, leaf area duration, root length, no. of nodules), biochemical attributes (SPAD newlineindex, chlorophyll content, total proteins, carbohydrates, PAL activity, flavanol, newlineflavanoid, phenols) yield attributes (test weight, no of seed pod-1, seed weight pod-1, newlineseed weight plant-1, no. of pods plant-1) quality parameters (nitrogen, phosphorus, newlinepotassium, arginine, protein), yield parameters are observed and the seed viability of newlinethese treatments were evaluated. newline
