Effect of Weight Training and Plyometric Training on Selected Strength Power Parameters and Basketball Skill Related Variables among College Men Students

Abstract

The study attempts to estimate the impact of weight training and plyometric training among college men students on selected strength power parameters and basketball skill related variables. Forty five men basketball players from Velammal Engineering College, Chennai were randomly selected as subjects for the study and they were in 19 to 23 years of age. . Equal divisions of three groups were made in which two experimental and one control groups and each group had fifteen subjects. Pre-tests were taken on selected criterion variables for all the subjects before start of the training. Weight training was allotted to Experimental Group I; plyometric training was allotted to Experimental Group II and another group called Control Group was allotted no training except their daily routine.
