An Enhancement System for Underwater Images Using TGBF and ALPHA SRGAN

Abstract

The study of marine images or underwater images is an evolving area for researchers. Marine images are captured using highly expensive cameras fixed deep under the sea. Underwater images can be used for a variety of studies like marine biological studies, underwater soil sediment studies, and marine geological and archaeological studies. Most of the time the images taken under the water are of poor quality due to the atmospheric distortions and low lighting. These low-quality images need to be enhanced for further studies. The low-quality images are due to the presence of haze and sediments present in the water and hence the image captured in such an environment are noisy.
