Abstract
quotThe advanced wireless communication system demands for higher data rate transfer of
newlineinformation, such as the IoT connectivity and smart use of multi-bands. The power consumption is a primary concern when the multiband antenna systems are deployed
newlinein real-time applications. However, the consumption of power is smartly handled by
newlineswitching mechanisms, which reconfigure the multiband antenna for desired
newlineapplications only. The advancement in the VLSI system has reduced the size of the
newlineprinted circuit board, which also demands the miniaturization of microstrip patch
newlineantennas so that they are more effective for electromagnetic radiation. This Ph.D. thesis
newlineasserts the important advancements in the design, optimization, and analysis of MIMO
newlineantennas specifically for the multiband operation. It utilizes advanced electromagnetic
newlinesimulation tools, including the High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and
newlineComputer Simulation Technology (CST), supported by comprehensive measurement
newlinesetups to ensure robust findings. The research aims to miniaturize antenna elements,
newlineaddress multipath fading challenges in single-element systems, minimize the mutual
newlinecoupling of electromagnetic radiation between MIMO elements, and activate the
newlinereconfigurability with embedded system-based switching circuits.
newlineA dual-notched band multiband antenna for Bluetooth, LTE2300, LTE2800, UWB, and X-Band is designed on Rogers RTDuroid5870 substrate. The designed antenna can also control each notched band individually by electrically controlling the length of parasitic elements, thus resulting in reconfigurable characteristics. Similarly, another dual-notched band Ultrawideband antenna has been designed to cover an operating bandwidth of 3.28 GHz - 10.72 GHz and mitigate WiMAX/C and DSS band interference through a pair of stubs on a radiating patch.
newlineThe embedded system-based reconfigurable circuit is applied and tested on the MIMO antenna, and performance analysis is also done through various aspects.quot
