Abstract

Mid-life women undergo many transitional phases in their life. newlinePerimenopause phase occurs between 40 to 50 years and is characterized by fluctuating newlinehormone levels, particularly estrogen, leading to symptoms like irregular cycles, hot newlineflashes, and mood swings which affect their menopausal quality of life. Dietary and newlinelifestyle changes will help women to overcome perimenopause symptoms and newlinecomplications. Musa Balbisiana Colla (plantain flower) is nutritious and has newlinephytochemical content, including flavonoids and total phenols. These compounds exhibit newlineestrogenic and antioxidant properties, which may help alleviate menopausal symptoms newlineand reduce oxidative stress. Incorporating Musa Balbisiana Colla into the diet could offer newlinea natural approach for women to manage perimenopausal symptoms. newlineThis study evaluated the effects of Musa Balbisiana Colla cookies on the newlinenutritional status and menopausal quality of life among perimenopausal women at SRM newlineInstitute of Science and Technology, Tamil Nadu, India.
