Abstract

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are considered the think tanks of a country that brings socio-economic growth and plays a vital role in the welfare of the people. One significant role of Higher Education is to spread the essential knowledge and information to the learners, increase their practical skills, and make them adept for living. Among all the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Central Universities play a vital role in facilitating new research and expansion of the same for the benefit of society. So, they are better recognized as research universities. In the last decade, increased emphasis on the research assessment of institutes has resulted in the emergence of ranking systems at the national and international levels. There is a budding demand for tools or methods to measure research productivity with the increasing emphasis on research productivity. Research productivity is being measured by a wide range of indicators and variables. The current research work is undertaken with the productivity of central universities in view.
