Pronominal resolution in tamil Novels

Abstract

The objective of this work is to study the anaphors and finding its newlinesuitable antecedents to develop a computational grammar and use it for newlineautomatic extraction of anaphor and antecedent in Tamil discourse With the newlineaid of the computational grammar we identify the linguistic features and use newlineit for machine learning to identify the antecedents The process of determining newlinethe antecedent of an anaphor is called Anaphora Resolution Anaphora newlineResolution is also called as pronoun resolution when it is limited to resolving newlinepronominals The third person pronominals avanavaLavar and atu is newlinetaken for our work and considered only noun phrase antecedents The newlineantecedent always precedes the pronoun The noun phrases above five newlinesentences from the pronominal occurred sentence are collected Based on the newlinetype of the pronominals we identify the antecedents Since Tamil newlinepronominals are Person Number and Gender agreement with antecedent newlinehence the right possible antecedents are filtered newline newline
