Studies on Improving the Mechanical Properties and Microstructural Analysis of Aa2024 Cu Cr Zr and Mgaz31b Alloys by Multi Angular Twist Channel Extrusion Mate Process

Abstract

Ultrafine grains (UFG) materials typically have grains with sizes ranging between a few nanometers to micrometers. UFG has garnered significant attention due to its unique characteristics and prospective applications across many sectors. Added to it, strength is the primary attribute of these materials. The dislocations that cause material deformation cannot move freely because of the small grain size. Due to this, ultrafine grain materials have superior mechanical properties, including increased tensile strength, hardness, and resistance to fatigue and wear. Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) is a metal processing method to produce UFG metals by deforming them without distorting their size. SPD is a specialized processing technique in which material is subjected to high strain levels, resulting in significant plastic deformation without causing a fracture. This method has drawn a lot of interest in materials science and engineering because it can improve the microstructure of materials, giving them distinctive mechanical properties and better performance newline
