Determining the role of aloe vera derived extracellular vesicles in diabetic wound healing

Abstract

Diabetic wounds present a significant clinical challenge due to chronic hypoxia, persistent inflammation, and high susceptibility to infections, leading to delayed healing. Addressing these multifactorial barriers, we developed OXY-ExoAloe, a novel nanoformulation derived from exosome-like vesicles of Aloe barbadensis gel, Zingiber officinale juice, and Azadirachta indica fruit sap. This plant-based formulation is rich in bioactive compounds that enhance wound healing by increasing oxygenation, reducing oxidative stress, and modulating inflammatory cytokines.
