Indexing for Genetic Divergence Brown Plant Hopper Resistance and Stability in Antenna Panel Genotypes of Irri Global Array Rice Oryza Sativa L

Abstract

The present investigation was taken up to study genetic divergence, brown plant hopper newlineresistance and stability of IRRI-Global Rice Array-IV derived Antenna paneland#8223; genotypes. The newlineinvestigation was carried out at the Norman E. Borlaug Crop Research Centre (NEBCRC), Govind newlineBallabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar during Kharif 2019, 2020 and newline2021 with 58 exotic lines and also at the Experimental farm of Agricultural Research Station, newlineMajhera and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, at Kashipur, with fifteen selective genotypes during kharif, newline2021. Genetic divergence study on the basis of D2 values grouped the fifty eight (58) rice genotypes newlineinto eight different clusters. The cluster I was largest and contained the maximum number of newlinegenotypes i.e. 48 followed by cluster II (3) and cluster IV(2) while the cluster III, cluster V, cluster newlineVI, cluster VII and cluster VIII each contained one genotype, respectively. newlineStability analysis over three seasons with 58 genotypes on the basis of biplots, IPCA 1 newlinescores, mean values and ASV scores revealed that- SANHUANGZHAN NO 2 for days to 50% newlineflowering, IR 6 for plant height; IR10F360 for number of tillers per plant; SANHUANGZHAN NO newline2 for number of grains per panicle and BR 28 for yield are most desirable and superior genotypes. newlineStability analysis across three locations On the basis of biplots and ASV scores in kharif 2021 with newline15 genotypes showed that SAHEL 177 for days to 50% flowering, SADRI for plant height; newlineFEDEARROZ 50 for panicle length; CT11891-2-2-7-M for number of grains per panicle and newlineSAHEL 108 for grain yield are most stable genotypes. newlineThe Antenna Paneland#8223; genotypes - IRRI 154, Sahel 108, IR 93354:34-B-5-1-23-1RGA-1-B-B newlineand the susceptible check TN1 exhibited the highest BPH damage score. The lowest BPH damage newlinescore was exhibited by - IRRI 147, SANHUANGZHAN NO 2, IRRI 104, NANHI, IR13F167, newlineIR84984-83-15-481-B, M202, Zanton::IRGC 31248-1, Sahel 134, Chhomrong Dhan, NSIC Rc240, newlineJamir. SSR based characterization for major BPH resistance genes indicated that more than 54 newlinegenotypes out of 58 genotypes showed the presence of various genes included under study with 9 newlinegenotypes having 4 genes, 12 having 5 genes and 21 genotypes had 3 genes respectively. None of the newlinegenotypes could be observed to possess all the major R genes namely Bph 1, Bph 3, Bph 21(t), newlineBph 17, Bph 13, Bph 4. newline
