Managerial analysis of extension personnel in the agriculture department of Andhra Pradesh

Abstract

The study entitled Managerial analysis of extension personnel in the agriculture department of Andhra Pradesh has been undertaken with the objectives to study profile characteristics, analysis of managerial abilities, relation between independent and dependent variables, factors influencing managerial abilities, Direct and indirect effect of the selected variables on managerial abilities and the Constraints and suggestions to improve their managerial abilities. Ex-post Facto Research Design was followed, West Godavari and East Godavari Districts in the state of Andhra Pradesh were selected randomly, for sampling multi stage disproportionate random sampling is followed. From each level 40 individuals are selected randomly 20 from each District, to make up a total of 160. The interview schedule was prepared. The analysis of data was carried out by using Different Statistical tools and software s. Majority of the respondents belongs to young age group and are male, having academic qualification of Diploma and Degree with medium family size. Having lesser levels of service experience, total training, management training, and area of jurisdiction and more perception of work load. Has medium levels of attitude towards delegation of authority, Job Satisfaction, Achievement Motivation, Job Involvement, Job Stress, Extension Activities, and Inter Personal Communication. The respondents are having Developmental kind of Style of Supervision with Low span of control, with Insufficient Staff Facility and Average Infrastructural Facilityand Department Climate. Majority of the respondents are having good planning ability, organizing ability, directing ability, communicating ability, controlling ability, human relation ability, leading ability, supervising ability, coordinating ability and decision making. Majority of the respondents are having Moderate Level of Managerial Ability followed by Low and High Managerial Ability.
