Abstract
The main objective of the research is to identify views and apprehension of employees towards New Pension Scheme i.e. National Pension System 2004, implemented in Government Sector Undertakings. It is a statutory scheme for every government employee recruited in PSUs after 01.01.2004. Among the primary motives behind the thesis is to explore the nature of NPS and ultimately to measure its performance, its successful implementation in selected enterprises, pros and cons associated with NPS, perception of junior to senior grade employees and to compare NPS with other pension plans available in market. In this corporate environment, its reliability and durability check according to its subscribers. Their opinion and suggestions towards this scheme and why subscribers do not go for other pension plans. The thesis work is carried out in Rajasthan with special reference to Kota District. Also to mention that this has been an humble and sincere effort to have an insight on NPS and changes which are becoming the norm as companies and employees alike to adapt to the effects of the national downturn.
