Experimental studies on heat transfer enhancement in pool boiling using carbon based nanofluids

Abstract

Boiling Heat Transfer (BHT) is a phase change process and it is newlineone of the efficient methods to dissipate the heat in thermal systems. It plays newlinean inevitable role in areas like power generation, refrigeration and air newlineconditioning, cryogenics, process plants, material processing and highpowered newlineelectronic devices. Improvement of the thermal performance and newlineheat transfer enhancement are the key attributes in a thermal system. Various newlineinvestigations have been carried out on the enhancement of Critical Heat Flux newline(CHF) and in particular pool boiling is the appropriate method owing to its newlinefeasibility and cost-effectiveness. Techniques like geometric and fluid newlinemodelling are most commonly used in pool boiling; among these fluid newlinemodelling is more suitable for experiments with different operating newlinetemperatures, and pressures owing to its improved thermal properties. newline
