THE IMPACT OF E LEARNING ON LANGUAGE LEARNING

Abstract

Using new technologies in the classroom create a pleasant learning environment. It has a greater impact on student s performance and achievement in the subject. . In this study descriptive research is used. Questionnaires were distributed to the students and data was collected. The research was aimed at discovering the impact of using e-learning on the psychological factors like attitude and interest that are responsible for effective language learning. The data collected was studied from different angles and the process of interpretation gave the final result. It included careful, logical and critical examination of the results obtained after analysis. Statistical techniques were used to get the meaningful result. In the present study the scoring on different variables like attitude and interest were analyzed in terms of testing each of the hypothesis. The study findings showed that most of the urban students, irrespective of their gender have positive attitude in using e-learning for learning English language. The semi urban students lack positive attitude and interest to use web sources for enhancing their listening and writing skills as they have less exposure to e- learning for various reasons. The teachers need to motivate the learners to use a variety of authentic on line sources which develop interest, seriousness and improve the learning styles of English language. Teacher should design the language content according to the students need and give exposure to different strategies to enhance the students motivation and self-confidence in language learning. The study findings do highlight the need for using e-learning for enhancing English language proficiency. newline
