The significant importance of yoga is to improve health condition by keeping a balance between physical and mental conditions. As a therapeutic measure to prevent and treat a variety of medical conditions like stress, insomnia, obesity, anxiety, diabetes, hypertension, oxidative stress, glucose tolerance, dyslipidaemia, neurodegenerative disease, and coronary heart disease, yoga science has emerged as one of the most significant research areas. newlineOur study shows that yoga practice has beneficial effects to combat the disorders linked with obesity. Yoga practice may have protective and therapeutic effects on obesity and cardio-autonomic dysfunction. Yoga as adjunct therapy with standard medical therapy reduces HR, blood pressure, balance sympathetic and parasympathetic activities as well as play significance role in reducing body weight and regulating BMI. Thus, it may be argued that those who practice yoga have a sense of balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic components of the autonomic nervous system. It also demonstrates that practicing yoga day to day life has drastic reduction in HR, BP, body weight and BMI. In contrast to biochemical parameters, our finding has significant role in management of lipid parameters, serum leptin and adiponectin level in yoga group. So, it is concluded that yoga is one of the non-pharmacological, preventive, curative and cost effective therapy to provide benefits and relief from many of the health problems. newline
