Abstract
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have capacious spectrum of antimicrobial, anticancer, antioxidant and catalytic properties. The remarkable feature of Ag NPs is that at minimum dosage they are harmful to microbes and safer to human cells. However, metal nanoparticles spontaneously aggregate and grow which tends to reduce surface energy that limits the reaction efficiency and stability of nanoparticles. Also ultra-high cost of metal nanoparticles hinders their further usage. Hence the design of new generation nanocomposite by the combination of one or more dissimilar material with distinct properties have been employed which offers synergetic multifunctional efficiency towards assorted applications. Integration of two dissimilar materials into a unique nanoplatform with various functionalities for real time application is a challenging task. Hence in the realm of nanomaterial considerable attention has been focused on fabrication of noble metal based metal oxide (NM-MOs), and metal oxide nanocomposite (MO-NCs) with multifunctional efficiency.
