An Optimal Solution to Unit Commitment Problem in Distributed Generation System

Abstract

In the recent past, in the field of electricity markets, the utilization of renewable newlineenergy is developing due to governmental subsidies. This greatly influences the newlineoperation planning of power plants, focusing especially when tending the unit newlinecommitment problem (UCP) with its high volatile generation. In electric power newlinesystem operations, the UCP is crucial. To meet the need, subject to equipment, and newlinephysical constraints it looks for an operating plan for a system of generating units newlineover a multi-period finite horizon. A photovoltaic cell, battery storage system with newlinemicro grid system of an optimal day-ahead scheduling model, and a wind turbine is newlineutilized. To represent little properties in the low voltage distribution network of micro newlinegrids the power flow constraints are made known in the scheduling model. To newlineenhance the electric power system operation with a key is BESS in the electric grid newlinewith a high point of wind penetration. By utilizing multiple optimization functions the newlineobjective of the problem will be solved. The constraints will be intended to bring newlineabout the solution of the problem by the utilization of a Squirrel Search Algorithm newline(SSA) such as spinning reserve, power balance, and minimum up and downtime, real newlinepower operating limits, emission, etc. The efficiency of the solution will be enhanced newlineand the solution complexity of the problem will be shortened. newline newline
