newline It is hypothesized that the occurrence of the viridans streptococcal bacteremia is newlinesignificantly higher in patients with periodontitis than in patients without periodontitis, newlinewould be evaluated. newlineIt is also hypothesized that occurrence of infective endocarditis caused by viridans newlinestreptococci is higher in patients with periodontitis than in patients without periodontitis; newlinethis hypothesis would also be evaluated. newlineWe would also evaluate the hypothesis that viridans streptococci are usually newlinesusceptible to the common antimicrobials in use.
