newlineThe present investigation was undertaken to collect information on genetic parameters for yield and its components from a fourteen parents Line x Tester mating design in mungbean at Crop Research Centre, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut (U.P.) during kharif 2021 and 2022. The experimental material was comprised of 14 diverse parents and their 40 F1s of a Line x Tester cross. All genotypes were evaluated in randomized block design with three replications. The data were recorded on sixteen characters i.e.,days to 50 % flowering, days to maturity, plant height, number of branches per plant, number of secondary branches, number of pod per plant, number of cluster per plant, number of pods per cluster, pod length, single pod weight, number of seeds per pod, biological yield per plant (g), total weight of pods (g), harvest index, 100- seed weight, seed yield per plant. The data were recorded subjected to various statistical analyses. Analysis of variance for parents and crosses recorded highly differed significantly for all the attributes namely, days to 50 % flowering, days to maturity, plant height, number of branches per plant, number of secondary branches, number of pods per plant, number of clusters per plant, number of pods per cluster, pod length, single pod weight, number of seeds per pod, biological yield per plant, total weight of pods, harvest index, 100- seed weight, seed yield per plant, while parent vs crosses had highly significant for all the characters, indicated that presence of wide differences among the parents andF1and#8223;s hybrids. Estimate of average degree of dominance ( 0.5) was partial dominan in nature for plant height, number of branches per plant, number of seeds per pod, 100 seed weight, Seed yield per plant suggesting the preponderance role of additive gene action.
