Satellite Image Based Change Detection of Land Use and Land Cover using Hyperspectral Dataset

Abstract

Remote sensing plays an important role in the detection of the land-use and land-cover (LULC) area on the earth s surface which is helpful in the analysis of coverage of the area by forest, snow, water, etc. On the other hand, uncertain LULC variations due to natural calamities lead to various risks and affect the sustainability of human activities. The accurate information about the LULC area helps to understand various atmospheric circulation procedures of the region. Remote sensing is an important tool for observing the changes or growth in the forest, prediction of weather, snow detection, etc. but still, the detection of frequent land cover changes over inaccessible regions has become challenging for the research community. Various approaches have been used to detect the changes in land cover regions. newline
