Abstract

The service sector is recognized as the fastest-growing sector in India. Despite the persistence of growth, there is always a problem in terms of availability of skilled labor, unwelcoming working conditions, sufficient wages, or governance. Also, the major challenge for the sector is to manage projects and schedules. Simply put, a schedule management plan is a document that explains how a project schedule will be created, tracked and managed. As the presence of schedule management helps the service sector to improve their communication, make the organizational goal more clear, or handle unstable situations, therefore, there is a need to have an understanding of the role of schedule management for the service sector. However, there are very few efforts taken to implement the strategy practically and even limited research has been done which further reduces the scope of implementing the schedule management practices in companies. To overcome these problems, this research aims to evaluate the impact of schedule management on project management along with assessing the variables that have a mediating impact on the linkage. Initially, to fulfill the objective of the study, a review of existing research has been done which identified that the procedure of schedule management implementation is very complex but schedule management is a valuable means of having activities optimized or reducing complexities. The triple constraint model was reviewed as a key theory in this study consisting of the main dimensions of cost, scope, and time. Therefore, mostly the companies could focus on identifying the associated factors or the strategies that could improve the schedule management and help in deriving project management. Herein, for this, using the triple constraint model, the conceptual model is developed wherein factors and strategies are included as the mediating variable, schedule management as an independent variable, and project management as the dependent variable. To evaluate the linkage newline
