Abstract
The main intent of this research is to give an outline on the multiple
newlinecontaminants in river and its nearby neighbouring land areas and the
newlinerelationship between Physico chemical, Microbiological and Heavy metal
newlineparameters which shows the scattering of metal-resistant strains in the
newlinesamples and their bioaccumulation ability as sorbets. To achieve this aim, a
newlinetotal of One Seventy Six (176) water and sediment samples were collected,
newlineFive Locations(5 locations) from Cauvery river and Six Locations (6
newlinelocations) on either sides of adjacent lands sites, were analyzed for Physico-
newlineChemical parameters like pH, TDS, EC, DO, BOD, TA, TH, Ca2+, Mg2+,
newlineNa+, K+, HCO3-, CO3 - , Cl-, SO4 2-, N-NO2-, and O-PO4 ; Heavy metals such as
newlineCd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pb and Zn ; and Microbiological parameters of TVC, TC,
newlineFC and FS as nearly a total of Twenty Eight parameters were analyzed
newlineduring the year 2015 and 2016 for four different seasons. Further, five strains
newlinefrom each site - Fifty five bacterial strains were selected and exposed to three
newlinedifferent concentrations of copper metal solution for metal resistant (MR)
newlinestudy by tube dilution and plate diffusion methods. As a result of MR study,
newlinethe high resistant bacterial strains were carefully chosen and used for
newlinebioremediation study which is carried out through living cell and dead cell
newlinemethods, with different pH and time intervals. The Physico chemical, Heavy metal and Microbiological parameters were highly fluctuating in all seasons with respect to the sampling sites, and high pollutants were stated during the summer and monsoon seasons due to mass visits and heavy rains. The high elevated levels of these parameters were perceived in the river sites compared to its adjacent land sites and also the sediment samples had high levels of all these parameters
newlinecompared to the water samples in all seasons and
