Abstract
Today climate change is a serious problem all around the globe. It is threatening the
newlinesurvival of many microbes, plants and animals causing changes in ecosystem structure
newlineand function. The atmospheric N deposition, a global climate change driving factor is
newlineconsidered as a serious threat to the global biodiversity. The studies about the impacts
newlineof N deposition on the ecosystem structure and function are generally available from
newlinethe grassland ecosystems of the temperate regions. The data on the impacts of
newlineatmospheric N deposition on forest structure, composition, regeneration, depleting
newlinepopulation of species and diversity are very little while totally lacking from the tropical
newlineregions.
newlineThe study was conducted on seven sites in the Sonbhadra districts of Vindhyan
newlinedry tropical forests (21º 29´ 25º 11´ N and 78º 15´ 84º 15´ E), India in years 2012-
newline2013. The region is experiencing continuous increase of human and cattle populations
newlinein addition to agriculture activities and facing rapid expansion of industries. Area is
newlinelocally dominated by dry deciduous trees.
