Abstract

Unit test is a type of formative test. This test is taken on every Saturday during school time, by the result of test teachers come to know the weak points of a child and able to do remedial work on it. After remedial work teacher will take retest and come to know students progress. This test is conducted all government schools of Gujrat by GCERT. This test is supervised and observed by CRC Co, BRC Co, Supervisors, AAO and other government educational officers. Teachers are directly connected with this programme. With the advice or opinions of these teacher researchers want to make it more effective. The main objective of researcher was to study teachers opinions towards unit test in the context of different variables. In present research, the researcher studied the opinions of teachers of Prathmik Shikshan Samiti towards unit test. In this study the researcher constructed and standardized a Unit Test Opinionnaire. So, the researcher selected descriptive survey method to perform his study. All the teachers of primary schools run by Nagar Prathmik Shikshan Samiti of Ahmedabad city was the population of present study. The researcher selected 116 male teachers and 390 female teachers from east area. 104 male teachers and 428 female teachers were selected from west area. Overall, 220 male teachers and 818 female teachers were selected. Total, 1038 teachers were selected from primary schools run by Nagar Prathmik Shikshan Samiti of Ahmedabad city. An opinionnaire for primary school teachers regarding unit test was constructed and standardized by the researcher. The researcher found reliability, validity and norms for this research tool. It was revealed that the teachers of west area of Ahmedabad city have positive opinions towards unit test than teachers of east area of Ahmedabad city, the teachers of science and general stream of Ahmedabad city have similar opinions towards unit test, the male teachers of Ahmedabad city have positive opinions towards unit test than female teachers of Ahmedabad city.
