Abstract
Tuberculosis is a major infectious disease that causes illness and death worldwide. It was declared a public health emergency by WHO in 1992.Globally 8.4 million people are estimated to develop TB each year, new infections occur at about 1 per second and nearly 2 million deaths results from the disease (WHO, 2010).Overall one third of the world s population is currently infected with the tuberculosis bacillus, over 90 per cent of them is in developing countries only.
